j-kep If you ever want to know what it feels like to be buried beneath the earth buy a stygian horror, this is the album for you. What a damn debut. Favorite track: Old Father Below.
Camelus Dromedarius
Camelus Dromedarius thumbnail
Camelus Dromedarius Brutal, crushing, cavernous death metal that nods to OSDM as well as newer acts. Thorn manages to sound like what we've come to expect from cavernous DM, but with quite a unique inflection. The best example of this would be the unexpected, but welcome, post-rock interlude in the middle of the album. Thorn takes the idea of cavernous DM and offers up a new and fresh perspective on the subgenre. I seriously believe Thorn will become a staple DM band within their next couple of albums. Favorite track: Old Father Below.

This withering void offers no solace from the looming gaze This barren chasm seems unfamiliar Yet I still linger Cast me down Blistering rot Yet I still linger Cast me out Overwrought
2.
Häxan Womb 02:56
Oh, father can you hear my plea? We bow before Infernal Majesty Miasma, mist most befouled Decimate the unavowed creatures of despair Fiend of the Night Air Grimoire's cursed ancient texts, bound in skin of those it's hexed Submit to the pagan gods, pledge your service in a bloody bond Conduct rites with your last breath, unfurl a miasma of death Putrid scent from the fire, nothing but bone and iron The charred remains spewing forth toxic mists. Noxious fumes course in their veins. Beyond this coil, pestilence in the womb. Rise again from profaned soil. Persecute the covens. Vile creation of a darkened faith.
3.
The entranced pagan's words herald cataclysmic eternal night. Laid to rest at the foot of the monolith. Adorned in sapphires and amethysts. Cloaked in a shroud of the finest silk. Still thrashing, tomb sealed brick by brick. Cold, sealed away in the Earth. Altars of corrupt birth. Beneath the Earth, submersed in dark, the air is growing thin. Bound in rope before the gods and their bastard kin. Visions of the blacked out sun entrance the heathen's mind. Ancient tomb and their seer lost to the sands of time.
4.
Purged by fire, the wicked one. Immured black death within his bones. Condemn the professed heretic. Strike the hammer upon the witch. Twisted beast sealed far below, seduced by serpents and dancing shadows. Beckon forth primeval man, entombed in chambers of ash and sand. Clutching the pining taste. Driven by the vow of death's embrace. Inescapable dream, forever bound to this scourge. Betrothed to the abyss, his scorn flourishes in nothingness. Accursed harbinger. Tormented soul.
5.
In this chasm, I will forever dwell. Festering wounds will not mend. Still, I embrace the subtle aching. I found solace in the bitter end.
6.
Across Elysian fields of jade where phantoms no longer linger Tendrils of oleanders creep ever-closer to my withered, brittle fingers. Climbing upward, the thorns constrict around my neck. Yearning for the specter to return to the vacant leer of my gaze. Here I ossify in solitude, awaiting my demise Bitter glimpse of dreams out of reach. Grasping the wisps of smoke that remain.
7.
At long last, sweet sleep has found its way back to me. One with the eternal void. Bring forth epochs of eternity Comatose in the void, this tattered soul can rest. Sinking in waters, I drown. Earthly woes no longer weigh me down. Beckoning call to the encompassing nothing Here, I rest my head. Where pain nor sorrow can find or follow. Lay me gently in my tomb. Encompass me in nothing
